Employee herb garden

You know what they say about all work and no play. At Hoyt Publishing, I created an herb garden, which combined my love of fresh foods and gardening. But this wasn't all for me. The garden was for the enjoyment of co-workers who could pick fresh herbs for their sandwiches and frozen lunches. The container garden offered four varieties of basil, two kinds of parsley, cilantro, rosemary, thyme and mint, not to mention hot peppers and cherry tomatoes.

Farmer Herb was my alter ego. Herb sent inter-office e-mails to his co-workers to let them know what had been harvested. He made delicious herb butters and pesto from the harvest. Herb spread the word that one doesn't need a lot of space to reap the rewards of container gardening.
